You sat there…
You sat there…
You sat there…
You sat there, now you don't watch movies
But this time you tried, you wanted to be close,
Just to be there, nearby.
Your heart was bleeding, you exposed it
You hoped I could at least bandage it,
Stop the bleeding yet I could not.
In that quiet, shadows hang between us,
Your glances, each a silent plea for something more,
But I couldn't bridge the chasm.
You spoke in soft whispers, hoping to ignite
A spark,
to start something but it was only stillness.
Each moment passed like an unanswered prayer,
Your warmth a beacon in my indifferent night,
I couldn't offer the solace you craved.
Seeing you leave,
I see your pain etched in every step,
A departure that echoes with unsaid words.
In the spaces you leave behind,
I find remnants, striking deposits of a love I couldn't embrace,
A heart laid bare, where mine remained closed.
